Taqwa Pedelars - A Biking Group

Alhamedellah, several DAT community members will be meeting every Saturday after Fajr, 7am at DAT to bike near the BWI - Balt/Annapolis trail.

Program is free, open to all, ages 9 and above, parental supervision for ages 12 and below required. Provide own transportation from DAT to meeting area on BWI loop (unless space available for pooling). Helmets required for all participants. Allow 2 hours activity time.

Taqwa Gardeners - A Vegetable Club

Alhamedellah DAT has established a Garden Club for our Community Youth. We will meet once a week for 1-2 hours to learn the principles of gardening. You will learn how to work together as a community to help each other at home and at DAT Vegetable Garden. There will be one hour for boys followed by one hour for girls. Boys Leadership Retreat: Mountain Strong, August 8th, 2009

Why: Build Leadership skills and details

Not only will your child experience activities to build their Islamic identity, but also they will be exposed to several key concepts related to patience and perseverance. Based on the Quran and Sunnah, this leadership retreat for pre-teens provides an opportunity for youth to develop in their deen and put it into practice.

Quran Teacher Needed - DUS Hifz School

The Hifzh School at Dar-us-Salaam is looking for a full-time female teacher to teach the girls' section of the full-time Hifzh School.

The ideal candidate should:

  • Have memorized a major portion of the Qur'an (if not all of it)
  • Know how to recite the Qur'an with proper Tajweed
  • Have teaching experience, especially in the United States.
  • Have valid authorization to work in the United States

Janazah Workshop - July 25th, 2009



Join this workshop to learn about death, funeral preparations, washing the body, shrouding and burial. Practical workshop using real-size, real-weight dummies. Class taught by Imam Safi Khan, Imam of Dar us Salaam. All participants will get a chance to do mock washings and shrouding.

Who: Ages 14 and above
When: Sat 7/25, 9am - 5pm
Where: DAT, Lower Level
Why: Learn how to wash, shroud and bury to be able to volunteer at your local Masjid for funeral needs.
