Journey to Mecca: In the Footsteps of Ibn Battuta, March 8th, 2009

The First IMAX® movie about Islamic Civilization coming to Baltimore this weekend only!

Journey to Mecca: In the Footsteps of Ibn Battuta
tells the epic story of Ibn Battuta, one of the greatest explorers of Islamic civilization, who leaves Morocco in 1325 and takes a famed journey 3,000 miles east to perform Hajj in the sacred city of Mecca. This big screen IMAX experience follows Ibn Battuta's journey, zeroing in on the Hajj - the first and only time an IMAX camera has been admitted into the Grand Mosque in Mecca to capture an aerial view of the Hajj from a helicopter hovering 200 feet above Mecca.

With very limited screenings in the US and around the world, Journey to Mecca is coming to Baltimore this weekend only! This big screen IMAX movie, running approximately 45 minutes, will be shown at the Maryland Science Center's IMAX theatres on Saturday, March 7th and Sunday, March 8th at 3:20 pm both days.

Tickets can be purchased at the Science Center's box office. To purchase tickets in advance, call 410-685-2370 or visit the Maryland Science Center's website here:
https://www.tickets.marylandsciencecenter.org/public/default.asp

The Maryland Science Center is located at 601 Light Street, Baltimore MD 21230. The main telephone number is 410-685-2370. Website: http://www.mdsci.org/

You don't want to miss this! Spread the word and bring family and friends! The success of these screenings will largely determine whether or not the Science Center agrees to show the film in the future.

Some of the major US newspapers, which have been around for more than half a century are closing its doors.
Do NOT let The Muslim Link newspaper become another statistic!
Please come out and show your support for the only Muslim newspaper in the DC/MD/VA area.

The Muslim Link is no different from most organizations which are squeezed by the the pressure of the weak economic situation. Drops in advertising and increases in publication costs has already forced the paper to move from a biweekly run to a monthly run. The paper is now on the verge of shutting down.

Your help is needed NOW. Come join TML for their annual dinner to support the only Muslim newspaper in the Greater Washington Area.

Imagine our community without TML - Who will write about our challenges, accomplishments, news and vision? Who will capture our history? Who will share our message?

Make a commitment to come and meet others from your community, make a commitment to spend time to support the cause. It is our paper, it is our duty.
