From the Inside Out: Fixing the World One Soul at a Time, Friday Jan 23rd 2009

We can only change what is happening to us if we change what is within us, and the responsibility to do so rests on all of our shoulders. Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) has taught us that: "The similitude of the believers in regard to their mutual love and affection for one another, is that they are like one body; when any limb of it aches, the whole body aches and responds with sleeplessness and fever." [Bukhari and Muslim] Are we awake and in a fever to help one another? In this Friday's halaqah, given by Br. Tarif Sharim, we will find out what means to change the condition of our ummah, from the inside out. Let's come together and show to our Muslim Palestinian brothers and sisters that we've got their backs!

Attend an Educational Workshop Organized by Kinder USA: Friday Jan 9th, 2009, 7pm
Kinder USA will share some of what they are witnessing first at Gaza this Friday inshaa Allah at 7pm at DAT.

Kinder USA provide support and among the projects they fund is the operation of a bakery. There are only 10 bakeries left in occupied Gaza, feeding 1.5 million people.

The bakery has begun making and distributing bread since Saturday. The bakery is distributing ready baked pies to over 1000 families who have 7-12 members, with this number increasing by 50 families a day. Our partners are using bikes, donkeys, and foot to get the food to those families who cannot make it to the bakery and are in remote villages.

Many of our colleagues are trapped in their homes with their children facing extreme trauma due to the fear and uncertainty. Parents are at a loss of how to protect and care for their children. They are either unable to find food and clean water for their children or are being forced from their home in harms way to find shelter.

Come to learn more about Gaza, the situation there during the embargo for the past years and the situation today, learn about the sufferings Gazans have been and continue to go through, and learn how you can make a difference.

Gaza, Palestine Under Siege - What Can We Do?

What we are witnessing these days is not only painful, but outrageous. As Muslims there are many things we can do inshaa Allah to support justice throughout the lands of Allah.

Dua:

Please never underestimate the power of duaa (supplication). as the beloved Prophet (PBUH) mentioned, the power of his nation is in the prayers, duaa and sincerity of its weak. Indeed Allah is close, responding to the call of the caller. Remember to make duaa in your sujood, after prayers and throughout the night. May Allah give the strength to the oppressed.

Get Educated:
