Muslim Women’s Shelter and Medical Center Activist Injured in Car Accident, Assistance Needed

Asma Hanif, the Founder and Director of Muslimat Al-Nisaa Shelter and Clinic for Muslim women, was recently injured in a car accident. The Baltimore MD activist, who is also chairperson of the greater Washington Coordinating Council of Muslim Organizations, received moderate injuries and is alhamdulilah currently recuperating nicely. Although Sister Asma’s injuries were not life threatening, her organizational vehicle, a passenger van in which she was driving, has been totaled and is not repairable or operational. The need for a transportation van for Sister Asma’s Shelter and Clinic is crucial and greatly needed. Given the essential services that Muslimat Al- Nisaa provides for Muslim women and children, we are appealing to anyone in the community that could donate a passenger van or station wagon to do so. Any donated vehicle should be in good mechanical condition and recently inspected. Persons or organizations interested in making such a donation should contact Sister Asma Hanif at 410-466-8686. Jazaka Allahu khairan
